Dr. Rai Washington is a licensed firearms instructor, safety educator, and the Founder of At Her Defense, a personal safety training center based in San Antonio, Texas.

She is a Federal Firearms Licensee with multiple state and national certifications in firearms, non-lethal defense, medical, and emergency response. With over two decades of experience as the owner of her own accounting firm, Dr. Washington brings real-world leadership and purpose to her work in safety education.

Her recognitions include Woman of the Year (2024), Make Lemonade Queen (2024), and Woman On the Move (2025). She has been profiled by The Female Executives of Texas and was featured in a 2024 international media segment on the Second Amendment. In 2025, she received both an Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarianism and the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.

At Her Defense is proudly female-founded and based in San Antonio, Texas. Our training center is a safe space for women and their families, regardless of their skill level or stage in their personal safety journey.
